What Does a €100,000 Wedding in Germany Actually Look Like?

€100,000 is a significant wedding budget. At the same time, spending €100,000 on a wedding does not automatically mean champagne towers, five outfit changes and floral installations hanging from every ceiling.

A beautifully planned wedding at this level in Germany can absolutely include some of those things if they matter to the couple, but in reality, a substantial part of the budget usually goes towards something less immediately spectacular: an exceptional venue, excellent food and drinks, an experienced team of professional suppliers, beautiful materials, thoughtful design and the production required to make a complex celebration feel completely effortless.

Particularly with 80, 100 or 120 guests, a six figure wedding budget can be allocated much faster than many couples initially expect.

So what does a €100,000 wedding in Germany actually get you?

The short answer is a lot, when the budget is spent intentionally. But not necessarily everything.

Is €100,000 a realistic budget for a luxury wedding in Germany?

Yes. A total budget of around €100,000 can create an exceptionally high quality wedding in Germany with professional planning, a beautiful venue, excellent catering, individual design and a strong team of experienced suppliers.

The number of guests, however, makes an enormous difference.

A €100,000 budget for 60 guests creates a completely different level of flexibility than the same budget for 150 people. Many of the largest wedding expenses increase directly with the guest count, particularly food, drinks, furniture, tableware, florals, stationery and sometimes transportation and staffing.

At Momentfest, we therefore never consider a wedding budget in isolation. Budget, guest count, venue and expectations need to be looked at together because it is the relationship between these factors that determines what is realistically possible.

How could a €100,000 wedding budget be allocated?

There is no universal formula for the perfect wedding budget, which is exactly why we do not believe every category should simply receive a predetermined percentage.

A couple who considers food one of the most important parts of their celebration will invest differently from a couple whose priority is floral design and spatial transformation. A wedding at an established luxury hotel will also require a completely different production structure from a celebration on a private property where a kitchen, power, bathrooms, tenting, furniture and lighting may all need to be brought in.

For a high end wedding of approximately 80 to 100 guests, an example budget might look something like this.

The venue and potentially accommodation could account for around €10,000 to €20,000. Catering, service and drinks might fall somewhere between €20,000 and €30,000 depending on the concept and duration of the celebration. Florals, décor, furniture, textiles, stationery, lighting and other design elements can easily total between €15,000 and €25,000.

Photography and film may require another €8,000 to €15,000, while music and entertainment can range from approximately €3,000 to €10,000 or considerably more depending on whether the celebration includes a DJ, live musicians or additional entertainment. Wedding Planning and Creative Direction, technical production, transportation, beauty, cake, additional staffing and many smaller elements also need to be considered, and although some of these expenses may seem relatively small individually, together they represent a meaningful part of the overall budget.

These figures are not intended as fixed prices. They simply illustrate how quickly €100,000 can be distributed across a wedding.

For one celebration, investing €20,000 in florals and design may be exactly the right decision, while another couple may spend €8,000 in that area and prefer to put the additional budget towards live music, an extraordinary dinner or an entire wedding weekend.

What actually makes a €100,000 wedding feel luxurious?

For us, luxury is not about making sure that money is visible everywhere you look.

Luxury is much more about quality, individuality and attention.

It is a venue that feels completely right. A menu guests are still talking about the following morning. A band that transforms the energy of a room within minutes. Fabrics, flowers and lighting that create an atmosphere without every individual element demanding attention. A timeline with such a natural rhythm that nobody feels the need to look at the clock.

And perhaps most importantly, it is the feeling that this particular wedding could not simply have been created for somebody else.

A €100,000 budget gives couples greater freedom to make decisions based less on what is just about possible and more on what genuinely reflects their story, their taste and the experience they want to create.

For us, that is where modern luxury begins.

How much of a €100,000 wedding budget goes towards design and florals?

There is no single answer because two weddings with exactly the same overall budget may prioritise design very differently.

For a design led wedding, a significant part of the budget may go towards florals, furniture, textiles, bespoke stationery, lighting, tablescapes, installations and other visual elements.

It is important, however, to understand that Wedding Design does not simply mean buying more decoration.

A strong design concept first determines what is actually necessary.

Sometimes the greatest impact comes from a spectacular floral installation, while another space may be transformed through metres of fabric, beautiful lighting and an unexpected floor plan. A historic venue with extraordinary architecture might need surprisingly little, whereas a neutral space may require significantly more production to create the desired atmosphere.

The role of good Creative Direction is therefore not to add as many elements as possible, but to identify the right ones and give them space to have an impact.

How much does the venue affect a €100,000 wedding budget?

Enormously.

The venue influences far more than the rental fee itself.

A venue that already provides beautiful tables and chairs, professional lighting, kitchen infrastructure and experienced staff may initially appear more expensive but could reduce production costs elsewhere. A less expensive venue, on the other hand, may require additional furniture, technical equipment, catering infrastructure, transportation, staffing or accommodation.

A wedding venue should therefore never be evaluated purely by its hire price.

When we search for venues, we look at the entire production picture. What is already available, what needs to be brought in, how does installation work, are there restrictions on timing, which suppliers are allowed to work on site and what possibilities does the space offer for the desired design?

A venue costing €8,000 can ultimately become the more expensive choice compared with one costing €15,000.

How does a wedding weekend change the budget?

Significantly.

Many of our couples, particularly international couples and those planning destination celebrations, no longer think of their wedding as one single day. The experience might begin with a Welcome Dinner on Friday, continue with the wedding on Saturday and end with a relaxed brunch on Sunday.

We love this approach because it creates more time for genuine connection and means that every emotional moment does not have to fit into a few short hours.

Financially, however, a wedding weekend means that catering, drinks, venues, staffing, styling, music and potentially photography or transportation need to be considered across several events.

A €100,000 budget can absolutely create a beautiful wedding weekend in Germany, but once again, guest count determines how elaborate each individual event can be.

Sometimes it makes more sense to keep the Welcome Dinner intentionally relaxed and place the majority of the creative and financial focus on the wedding day rather than trying to produce three equally elaborate events within the same budget.

Do you need a Wedding Planner for a €100,000 wedding?

Need is probably the wrong word because a large wedding can, of course, be planned independently.

However, as budgets increase, complexity usually increases with them.

A larger budget often means more suppliers, more individual solutions, more elaborate design, more complex logistics and higher expectations for execution. At the same time, individual decisions carry greater financial weight because mistakes or last minute changes can quickly cost several thousand euros.

The role of a professional Wedding Planner is therefore not simply to organise things. It is to help allocate the budget strategically, evaluate proposals, build the right supplier team, understand the dependencies between different decisions and make sure the creative vision can actually be produced in reality.

Particularly with a six figure wedding budget, professional planning should ideally begin before a significant part of that budget has already been committed.

What would we prioritise with a €100,000 wedding budget?

We would not begin with a list of things that a wedding at this level is supposedly expected to have.

We would begin with the couple.

What are the three things you want your guests to still talk about months later? How should the day feel? Is food particularly important to you? Music? Design? An extraordinary venue? A long dinner outside? An incredible party? As much time as possible with your closest friends and family?

Only then would we decide where the money should go.

Perhaps that means a smaller guest list combined with an exceptional menu, elaborate florals and live music. Perhaps it means inviting 120 people while keeping the design more restrained and placing greater emphasis on atmosphere and the party. Perhaps a significant part of the budget goes towards a venue with so much character that very little additional design is needed.

A good wedding budget should never look like a checklist. It should reflect the priorities of the people getting married.

Is €100,000 enough for a high end wedding in Berlin or Germany?

For many concepts, the answer is absolutely yes.

A €100,000 budget can create an extraordinary, highly considered and individually designed wedding in Berlin and many other parts of Germany.

But the budget itself is not what makes a wedding exceptional.

One of the most important parts of planning is understanding where money genuinely changes the guest experience and where it does not.

Because even with a six figure budget, resources are not unlimited, and that is where thoughtful planning becomes so important. The goal is not to spend more everywhere, but to invest intentionally in the places that matter.

A beautiful wedding is not created by executing every possible idea. It is created through a clear vision, strong priorities, an exceptional team and decisions that consistently move towards the same feeling.

When all of those things come together, €100,000 can create much more than a luxurious celebration.

It can create a wedding that feels entirely and unmistakably like the people it was designed for.
